Courageous and majestic, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, with his distinctive line of hair along his spine, is among the noblest of breeds. The Ridgeback is a large breed, that requires a loving home with considerate training. The reward is a dog of handsome stature, excellent temperament and a loyal and trusted companion.
About the Breeder
Peter Nicholson, noted expert and breeder of Rhodesian Ridgebacks, has been instrumental in promoting the Rhodesian Ridgeback in the show ring and as a family pet.
Peter first owned a Ridgeback in 1961, but it was the arrival of Gambo, who became the youngest Ridgeback to win Best of Breed at Crufts, that laid the foundations for the well-known Trendsetter Dogs. Peter is a well respected Championship Show judge in the UK and overseas, and he is a founder member of "The Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme". Peter is supported by his wife, Elizabeth, who has owned Ridgebacks since 1979 and has extensive knowledge of the breed.
Peter was also the co-author of ther award-winning comprehensive book of the breed 'The complete Rhodesian Ridgback'
With over 50 years, pleasure (and frustration) of enjoying this remarkable breed we know temperament is the greatest quality. Visitors are welcome to discuss all aspects of Ridgeback ownership and assess the temperament of our older dogs, before considering buying a puppy from us, puppies are occasionally available - see our "Puppies for Sale" page for current Ridgeback puppy availability.
